CEGIS has prepared the National Land Cover Map using SPOT Satellite Images of 2015 under “Strengthening National Forest Inventory and Satellite Land Monitoring System in support of REDD+ in Bangladesh” Project of the Forest Department. It was also one of the key technical
partners for developing National Land Representation System (NLRS) for Bangladesh. The legend for the land cover map was developed using Land Cover Classification System (LCCS) of FAO. This approach has the advantage of facilitating the integration of time series land cover data in a consistent way. The historical Land Cover Datasets of 2000, 2005, and 2010 were prepared also using LANDSAT images. The land use maps for 46 districts were prepared under Land Zoning Project of Ministry of Land.
